The waters are still murky regarding the political affiliation and beliefs of Tyler Robinson, the young white man who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, a well known Christian white supremacist who also advocated misogyny. Authorities and the American public are heavily scrutinizing details to determine whether Robinson was on the left side of the political spectrum or on the right. He was not registered as Democrat or Republican. One credible source reported Robinson once made a contribution to Donald Trump's political campaign. It is now being reported Robinson had a roommate who is said to be transgender and there is speculation Robinson was upset with the hateful transgender and homophobic rhetoric by Kirk. Currently, his roommate is not indicated in any beforehand knowledge or involvement of planning out Kirk's murder.
Utah's governor Spencer Cox, who already stepped in deep sh*t after the shooting of Kirk on September 10, is now claiming Robinson appears to have political tendencies towards the left . Cox asserts these claims are based on Robinson's dark web activities, and his relationship with Robinson's roommate. Spencer Cox is not someone to be trusted for details. And given Kash Patel's brain cramps in a recent congressional committee hearing and his reverence of Trump, I am now questioning the so called "facts" released from the FBI on the Charlie Kirk case. Kash Patel has zero law experience and is a die-hard Trump loyalist. Recently, a transcript of text messages between Cox and his roommate was released.
When I first read the aforementioned transcript, it struck me very odd; for it did not seem like how two men in their young twenties would converse, plus it included odd wording related to the crime. Also people who text, particularly young people, tend not to write in complete sentences. For the first time in my lifetime, and I am in my 60's, I question whether the FBI department which is now led by Kash Patel can be trusted. Even during the Reagan era, and both father and son Bush administrations, I never entertained the FBI fabricating or distorting facts about murders. But this administration is quite different and has already gone to great lengths to prevent transparency regarding the Epstein files; Patel in conjunction with Pam Bondi ordered over 1400 FBI agents to seek out all documents related to the pedophile which mentioned Donald Trump by name. Kash Patel absolutely refuses to answer questions on this matter.
It is also reported that Robinson was raised in a Mormon MAGA supporting family and through his childhood learned and shot a variety of guns. There are a number of pictures online to confirm this, and whoever shot Kirk was notably skilled. It was wildly speculated at first that it was a professional hit job. Still, there is nothing conclusive to date to indicate Tyler Robinson held leftist views, and some are saying he considered himself a "Groyper", a network composed of white supremacists more extreme than Kirk. All of this remains to be seen, but there is nothing conclusive so far on Robinson's political leanings. Can we believe our current government to be upfront with this investigation? I do not think so.
The Trump Administration ordered flags throughout the U.S. capitals to be lowered half staff in honor of Charlie Kirk, a fellow white supremacist who frequently vocalized hateful rhetoric towards blacks, other minorities, immigrants, LGBTQ, and women. His mission besides earning money from his so called Christian enterprises was to poison young people's minds by sowing seeds of hate to earn the Republican Party votes and to further mobilize the Christian white nationalist movement. It is no surprise Trump desires to award Kirk a Medal of Freedom for all the hate Kirk help generate.
Let's look at just a few of the racist statements Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA has made:
"If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, boy, I hope he’s qualified."
"If I’m dealing with somebody in customer service who’s a moronic Black woman, I wonder is she there because of her excellence, or is she there because of affirmative action?"
"America was at its peak when we halted immigration for 40 years and we dropped our foreign-born percentage to its lowest level ever. We should be unafraid to do that."
"We made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s" .
It is ironic, Kirk would later die by what he preached regarding guns. After a school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, Kirk commented: "It's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment." He also was not a believer in empathy, much like Elon Musk. Regarding empathy Kirk stated: “I can’t stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new age term that does a lot of damage.”
Regardless whether Tyler Robinson is on the left or the right, the outcry has made the political divide more clear than ever. On the day Kirk died, millions of MAGA cried out for war against the left with no information about the shooter's affiliation, and historically black colleges and universities across the country received bomb threats the next day. A few days later, two young black men were found hanging in Mississippi--one from a tree at a college campus. The police are trying to hush these suspicious events away by classifying the deaths as "suicides". The right wing extremists are truly cognizant of their racism and this now includes all the Republicans in Congress.
Immediately after Kirk was shot, Fox News featured multiple reports with inflammatory rhetoric towards the left and Trump appeared on Fox issuing threats towards the left. Remember, the two assassination attempts upon 34 felon Trump came from people on the right, not the left. Most political shootings come from the right, and just a few days after Kirk's murder, the D.O.J. took down a research report breaking down a report on domestic terrorism which statistically showed most perpetrators had affiliations on the right. This report from the National Institute of Justice states "Since 1990, far-right extremists have committed far more ideologically motivated homicides than far-left or radical Islamist extremists, including 227 events that took more than 520 lives. In this same period, far-left extremists committed 42 ideologically motivated attacks that took 78 lives." No one on the right gave a sh*t about the Melissa Hortman who was assassinated and husband murdered at that same time. Where was the Republican outcry then, or flags flown at half staff across the nation?
The call for war by the right after Kirk's murder was unnecessary, as the right has been preparing for war long before September 10, 2025. From families passing down their racist ideologies to their children for decades, to the implementation of Project 2025 by a white supremacist regime, these people were preparing for war a long time ago. The goals of Project 2025 were not mapped out in a few years, but most likely decades. A "new" Christian white nationalist movement began to evolve with segregationist pastor Jerry Falwell who did not want blacks at Liberty University, and later to compound the matter, a new movement manifested in some Christian circles called the New Apostolic Reformation formed by a man named C. Peter Wagner. Essential to these ideologies, was the goal of demolishing separation of church and state, to which Kirk concurred with completely.
While the governor in Utah, Spencer Cox calls white supremacist Charlie Kirk's death a "direct assault on America", millions of Americans called Charlie Kirk a direct assault against them. Kirk had the philosophies of one who desired an all white society and government, was extremely racist, and tried to impress his racist views on impressionable young people, He no doubt played a role in influencing Trump in crafting policies to negatively impact marginalized communities. He was a seething misogynist, minimizing all women, and especially engaged into throwing racist insults towards black women on his Turning Point USA platform, and at other public appearances. Right wing extremists will likely still target blacks for Kirk's killing, but will also take up Trump's baton spouting hateful rhetoric claiming gay and transgender people are behind mass shootings and political killings. The mission now is to spin a narrative claiming the left encourages political violence, while research proves otherwise. The Congressional Republicans are proving this well.
The legacy of Charlie Kirk is liken to one planting seeds of insidious poison into a garden of young people, and others as well. Instead of producing qualities like love, kindness and acceptance--the very things Jesus taught, the crop he infected will produce hate, cruelty, and intolerance. This same man wanted our nation to rid the holiday celebrating the life of Martin Luther King, Now the House and Senate has passed legislation to make October 14 (I think its the 14th) a national day of celebration in honor of a white supremacist, Charlie Kirk. One was a black man for unity, the other, a white man who stood for division and hate. And I choose to celebrate the one who had a dream for the nation which included all races.
